Vijay Kedia books profit in stock that he held for two decades

Vijay Kedia portfolio: Ace investor has booked profit in Cera Sanitaryware shares during October to December 2022 quarter. As per the shareholding pattern of the company for recently ended December 2022 quarter, Vijay Kedia’s name is missing from the list of individual shareholders of the company. In shareholding data of the company for September 2022 quarter, Vijay Kedia was holding 1.02 per cent stake in the company. This means, Vijay Kedia offloaded his stake in the company during third quarter of the current financial year. 

However, ace investor still holds one lakh shares of Cera Sanitaryware. In a WhatsApp chat with Livemint, Vijay Kedia informed that he is still holding one lakh shares of Cera Sanitaryware.

As per the exchange rules, it is mandatory for a listed company to share names of individual shareholders who hold 1 per cent or more shares of the company. As Vijay Kedia’s shareholding in Cera Sanitaryware has gone below 1 per cent, his name is missing from the list of individual shareholders of the company in shareholding data of the company for Q3FY23.

As mentioned above, Vijay Kedia’s name is missing from the list of individual shareholders of the company in shareholding data of the Cera Sanitaryware Ltd for third quarter of the financial year 2022-23. However, in shareholding pattern of Cera Sanitaryware Ltd for July to September 2022 quarter, Vijay Kedia was holding 1,32,507 company shares, which was 1.02 per cent of total paid up capital of the company.

Vijay Kedia started investing in Cera Sanitaryware in 2004 and he is still a shareholder of the company. He had informed about his investment journey in the stock in one of his tweets while responding to a tweet in July 2022.

A twitter user Manish Bothra had tweeted that  ace investor Vijay Kedia had started investing in Cera Sanitaryware shares from 2004 and it took him around one year to accumulate some meaningful quantity of the company shares at near 40 apiece levels. By the year 2007, the absolute value of Vijay Kedia’s investment turned to four times. From 2009 to 2017, Cera Sanitaryware share price climbed from 40 to 4000 per share levels.
