Redmi 9 launched in India with 5,000 mAh battery, Price, Specification

Redmi 9 has been launched in India as Xiaomi’s latest budget smartphone. The new phone was launched a month after the Chinese company unveiled the Redmi 9 Prime in the country. Redmi 9 is a slightly twisted variant of Redmi 9C which was launched in Malaysia in late June. The smartphone has a water-back-style display notch and has dual rear cameras. Redmi 9 also has a 5,000mAh battery that supports fast charging. In addition, the new smartphone is available as a successor to the Redmi 8 launched last year.

Redmi 9 price in India, availability information

The price of Redmi 9 in India has been kept at Rs 8,999 for the 64GB storage variant, while the 128GB storage option comes at a price of Rs. 9,999. The phone has three different color options, such as Carbon Black, Sky Blue, and Sporty Orange. Availability, the Redmi 9 will go on sale in the country through Amazon and Mi.com. Its first sale will start on August 31 from 12 noon (noon). Apart from this, this phone will soon be available through Mi Home stores and offline retailers in the country.

Notably, Xiaomi launched the global version of Redmi 9 in Spain in June, with a different list of specifications of its India version. The phone went on sale in the Spanish market with a starting price of EUR 149 (about Rs 13,000).

The dual-SIM (Nano) Redmi 9 runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top and features a 6.53-inch HD + (720×1,600 pixels) dot view display with a 20: 9 aspect ratio. Redmi 9 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM. For photos and videos, the Redmi 9 comes with a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary, depth sensor. This is in contrast to the Redmi 9C which has three camera sensors at the back. The new phone also has a 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

Xiaomi has given 64GB and 128GB onboard storage options on Redmi 9 that both are expandable via microSD card (up to 512GB) via a dedicated slot. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS / A-GPS, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Redmi 9 has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging (there is a compatible charger bundle). Apart from this, the phone measures 164.9×77.07×9.0mm.
