Software giant Microsoft has announced new artificial intelligence (AI)-powered shopping tools for Edge and Bing browsers. These tools, the company says will help users shop and save with confidence, harnessing the power of AI to make it easier to discover, research, and complete their purchase.
With the new buying guide feature, Microsoft Bing and Edge users will be able to take the help of AI quickly to tell what to look for in each category, offer product suggestions, and show the specifications of multiple, similar items next to each other in a smart compare tab. Users can also quickly compare the options without having to click around to various websites.Â
“Discover what you need with Buying Guides—even when you’re not sure what that is,” says Microsoft announcing the new feature. Buying Guides can be accessed in the Edge sidebar or in Bing Chat.Â
The company said that buying guides in Bing are available now in the US and will be rolling out to other markets over time. While buying guides in Edge are starting to roll out worldwide.
Another feature being added is the summarized reviews and insights. For example, when buying a noise-cancelling headphone, users can open Bing Chat in the Edge sidebar and Bing will suggest what aspects to consider when shopping for headphones like sound quality, fit and device compatibility. When you find a specific pair, you can ask Bing Chat in Edge to briefly summarize what people are saying about it online and provide a quick look at top insights and popular opinions about the product.Â
Microsoft said that the review summaries are starting to roll out today worldwide just in time for back-to-school.Â
Once you have decided what product to buy, you can use Microsoft Shopping tools on Bing and Edge to find the best price and time to buy, thanks to the Price Match feature. The company says that the feature continues to work even after the purchase, by monitoring the item’s price and assisting in requesting a match if it drops.Â
Microsoft has added another AI-powered package tracking that also keeps tabs on purchase from the Edge sidebar, so you don’t have to dig through your inbox for shipping confirmations and tracking numbers.Â
As announced by Microsoft, Price Match will be rolling out soon in the US. Price History, Price Comparison, Coupons, Cashback, and Package Tracking are already available in select markets and built-in to Edge.
